Get ready for a summer full of exploration! Registration for the Summer Letterbox Adventure begins May 27 and runs through September 6. Please read carefully for exciting changes! Have you heard of the Lancaster festival? The week-long festival is filled with activities sure to wow children and parents alike! July 23-31st.
Some exciting features include:
- Shazzbots: This intergalactic rock band will be performing Thursday, July 29 at noon. With dynamic songs like “Snowday!” and “Gravy Boat,” your child will be dancing the day away.
- Family Concert – A Musical ZOO! With the Lancaster Festival Orchestra: After jamming with the Shazzbots, stick around until 7 p.m. to catch the family concert!
While at the festival you can also enjoy:
- Children’s Corner: Everyday of the festival from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., head to the Children’s Corner for laughs and great fun. A puppet show, ventriloquist, Rick Kelley the entertainer and more will be making an appearance!
- Coffee + Eats: You can’t leave Lancaster hungry!

Butterfly Pursuit @Highbanks Big Meadow Picnic Area

Take a 1-mile hike to look for some of the most beautiful butterflies of the season and learn how to identify them. Hike is along a paved trail and is wheelchair and stroller accessible. All ages welcome. Program meets in Big Meadows. Big Meadows is at the back of the park. Take the first left when you reach the bottom of the hill, and park in the first lot you come to. Program will begin near the restrooms and bulletin board.
