☀️Summer Solatice at Comfest
9-1130 am
Join us to celebrate the Summer Solstice and honor Manannán mac Lir at Comfest (and stop by our booth while you’re at it). We will be at the Live Arts stage. Procession to the ritual begins at 9:00 AM from our booth (near Park and Poplar) to green space next to the Live Arts Stage. We’ll begin ritual once we’re set up at Live Arts, approximately 9:30.
In this ritual, we’ll take part in the custom of ‘paying the rents’ to Manannán. Mac Lir is the traditional king and protector of the Isle of Man, and for his protection of the island he asks only a yearly payment of rushes at Midsummer. Though we’re far away from the Isle of Man, we’ll offer his rushes and ask for his protection on our community here in Ohio.
This is the most informal of all of our High Day rites, and a great place to come out and see what we’re all about. Three Cranes Grove will also be at Comfest on Friday and Saturday, so feel free to drop by our booth (near Park and Poplar) for readings, questions about what we do, or just to chat.
