Podcasts are a big hit with my girls. Not only do they educate, inspire imagination, and entertain, they also let me have a much needed break to eat. I wanted to share some of our current favorites. I can only take so much of kids music.
We have big imaginations over here, these are our favorites for listening to stories.

Our Mission: To create a generation of conservationists
When it comes to media reports about our natural world, headlines today are dominated by tales of doom and gloom. Increasing pollution in our air and waterways, diminishing biodiversity the world over, and the ever-present threat of climate change all conspire to create images of a bleak future that can at times seem inevitable. These are the reports our children have been faced with all their lives – but we have yet to meet even one that responds with despair.
That’s because there’s an even stronger environmental narrative emerging from Canada’s youth today; one of realistic optimism. The next generation is a hopeful generation, and one who is ready to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to make a better future their reality.
Earth Rangers is the kids’ conservation organization, committed to instilling environmental knowledge, positivity, and the confidence to take action in every child in Canada. We do this through a variety of free programming that children can participate in at school, at home, and in their communities. All of these programs are educational and engaging – but more importantly, they show children that it’s not too late to help the planet, and the things we do today will matter tomorrow.
We’re an award-winning science podcast for kids and curious adults from American Public Media.
But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids But Why is a show led by you, kids! You ask the questions and we find the answers. It’s a big interesting world out there. On But Why, we tackle topics large and small, about nature, words, even the end of the world.

Armchair Expert with Dax Shepherd
Hi, I’m Dax Shepard, and I love talking to people. I am endlessly fascinated by the messiness of being human, and I find people who are vulnerable and honest about their struggles and shortcomings to be incredibly sexy. I invite you to join me as I explore other people’s stories. We will celebrate, above all, the challenges and setbacks that ultimately lead to growth and betterment.
What qualifies me for such an endeavor? More than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training. I will attempt to discover human “truths” without any laboratory work, clinical trials or data collection. I will be, in the great tradition of 16th-century scientists, an Armchair Expert.
nuture vs. nurture
Nurture vs Nurture is new podcast brought to you by the producers of Armchair Expert. Dr. Wendy Mogel, social-clinical psychologist and author, specializes in the protection and promotion of self-reliance, resilience, accountability and exuberance in children and she is our fearless leader in this new endeavor. Each week, Dr. Wendy sits down with a different set of parents for a therapy session. She brings her forty years of experience working with families to these intimate and wonderfully voyeuristic conversations. This podcast allows the listener to go on another family’s journey and to receive practical advice along the way. Wendy proves that, perhaps counterintuitively, there is nothing more universal than our specificity. In each episode, Wendy also introduces us to a foreign word that is untranslatable into English in order to enhance our minds and vocabularies on parenthood, family and communication with those we love the most.
