Affordable Pittsburgh Activities and Beyond 💫

If you’r checking out Pittsburgh, you’re going to want to check these affordable activities out for sure. This was our second trip to Pittsburgh, so I wanted to share our favorites. It’s a short drive and worth the trip.

1. North Shore Riverfront Park
100 Art Rooney Ave. Pittsburgh

💦A splash area like you have never seen! It’s a staircase of rocks to climb, and there are areas at the top(shallow) and bottom (deeper) to wade in

🌇Check out all the bridges along the river and see some city views

🌈Walk to the Mr. Roger’s Tribute to Children to see a giant statue of Mr. Rogers and listen to some old school programming

2. Monongahela Incline
8 Grandview Ave. Pittsburgh

💲Adults $5 roundtrip ride, 6-11 $2.50 roundtrip ride, kids under 5 are free

🕖3 hours to explore the views including an observation deck, local shops, restaurants, ice cream shop(I recommend)

💦You will need to pay for parking, while here you can check out a fountain that is synchronized to music, as well as chain restaurant options in Mount Washington

3. Duquesne Incline
1197 West Carson St. Pittsburgh

💲Adults $5 roundtrip ride, 6-11 $2.50 roundtrip ride, kids under 5 are free

👛Gift shop

📃Little museum with history

🌇We enjoyed the view more with this option, but no accessibility to Station Square so you had to pay parking twice

4. Winnie Palmer Nature Preserve🌱
744 Walzer Way, Latrobe PA

We headed to Idlewild Amusement Park for a fun family day. If you head that way you definitely need to check this place out!

🖌Art area with logs to create art

👩🏻‍🍳Cooking area to create a recipe with pinecones, sticks, and other found treasures

🎼Music area to band on a log drum set, create the sound of rain, use a giant wind chime

🧗🏽‍♀️Enjoy a climbing wall, rope ladder, find animal tracks and explore large logs and the woods

🏌🏻‍♂️Play natural putt putt

👍🏻Take a swing on a wood swing in a beautiful setting

👣Walk through the labyrinth

🐝Check out the bees in their boxes

📌I also suggest Double Wide Grill for a unique dining experience and the food was delicious.

Sign up for their rewards program at Springhill Suites in Latrobe and save $15.  It was a brand new hotel and super clean with free breakfast!
