Affordable Pittsburgh Activities and Beyond 💫
If you’r checking out Pittsburgh, you’re going to want to check these affordable activities out for sure. This was our second trip to Pittsburgh, so I wanted to share our favorites. It’s a short drive and worth the trip.
1. North Shore Riverfront Park
100 Art Rooney Ave. Pittsburgh
💦A splash area like you have never seen! It’s a staircase of rocks to climb, and there are areas at the top(shallow) and bottom (deeper) to wade in
🌇Check out all the bridges along the river and see some city views
🌈Walk to the Mr. Roger’s Tribute to Children to see a giant statue of Mr. Rogers and listen to some old school programming
2. Monongahela Incline
8 Grandview Ave. Pittsburgh
💲Adults $5 roundtrip ride, 6-11 $2.50 roundtrip ride, kids under 5 are free
🕖3 hours to explore the views including an observation deck, local shops, restaurants, ice cream shop(I recommend)
💦You will need to pay for parking, while here you can check out a fountain that is synchronized to music, as well as chain restaurant options in Mount Washington
3. Duquesne Incline
1197 West Carson St. Pittsburgh
💲Adults $5 roundtrip ride, 6-11 $2.50 roundtrip ride, kids under 5 are free

📃Little museum with history
🌇We enjoyed the view more with this option, but no accessibility to Station Square so you had to pay parking twice
4. Winnie Palmer Nature Preserve🌱
744 Walzer Way, Latrobe PA
We headed to Idlewild Amusement Park for a fun family day. If you head that way you definitely need to check this place out!
🌳Play area with logs to balance on, a small pond to view, giant stones to sit and climb, and logs to build with
🖌Art area with logs to create art
👩🏻🍳Cooking area to create a recipe with pinecones, sticks, and other found treasures
🎼Music area to band on a log drum set, create the sound of rain, use a giant wind chime
🧗🏽♀️Enjoy a climbing wall, rope ladder, find animal tracks and explore large logs and the woods
🏌🏻♂️Play natural putt putt
👍🏻Take a swing on a wood swing in a beautiful setting
👣Walk through the labyrinth
🐝Check out the bees in their boxes
🐜Check out a really cool bug box
🦋Walk through the butterfly garden and check out the various flowers that are present on a giant sign
👣Take a trail over step stones to a quaint little pond in a great setting
🏖Relax and play in a natural sand pit
🔍Explore the barn and learn even more about nature
📌I also suggest Double Wide Grill for a unique dining experience and the food was delicious.
