Explore off-trail looking for tracks and other evidence of animals. Warm up with hot cocoa afterward in the nature center. Please dress for the weather. Expect to get muddy. Due to being off-trail, please no strollers. Ages 6 and older. Program is free and meets at Highbanks Nature Center.

Note: Limited parking at the nature center. Additional parking available at Oak Coves picnic area.

🕷Insects in Winter @ Blacklick Woods Metro Park

Learn how insects survive in winter, then dig through leaf litter, turn over logs and shake tree branches to find some. Meet at the nature center.

❄️Winter Walk

Join us on a wintery walk through the woods at Boehnke Nature Preserve! Rain or shine, sleet or snow, bring along your boots, hats, and gloves. 

Come along on a guided walk led by a naturalist from Franklin County Metro Parks!

Watch a maple tree tapping demonstration, and learn how the sap becomes maple syrup!

Enjoy hot chocolate & cookies before or after the walk!

☃️2020 Winter Hike: Inniswood

Join us for a 2-mile hike through the park. Food and hot drinks served after the hike.

Hike to a greener place – Here’s how you can help:

– Bring a reusable mug or bowl 

– Buy a bowl from Friends of Metro Parks

– Car pool with friends

– Donate personal hygiene products or $5 to Mid-Ohio Foodbank and receive a collector’s mug
