🛍Old Worthington Market Day @ Worthington Historic District

Join Daisy Mae Designs, Heart + Heart Designs, Kuddle Bumz Designs, Lily Noelle Jewelry, and Evolverie Designs on High Street in Historic Worthington for Old Worthington Market Day! 

On Market Day, Worthington’s largest one-day festival, artisans gather on the streets of downtown Worthington to present a colorful and varied display of quality hand-crafted goods from jewelry, pottery and ceramics to beautiful paintings, decorative clothing and unique wood products. 

More than 250 exhibitors typically display their wares each year, and an estimated crowd of 20,000 visitors and residents enjoy the event throughout the day. Community and local charitable groups also have fundraising and informational booths on display, and a host of food vendors provide meals, snacks and concessions ranging from signature local restaurant dishes to carnival-atmosphere snacks.

✌🏻The Scioto Sweep – Be part of a historic Scioto River clean-up

COSI, Green Columbus, and Keep Columbus Beautifulare joining forces alongside many local organizations and corporations such as Huntington, Accenture, NiSource, The Nature Conservancy, the Ohio Environmental Council and many more to clean the length of the Scioto River within the I-270 loop in just one day.  All members of the community, including individuals, families and organizations are welcome to participate.

This effort is to support the opening of a new exhibition Unseen Oceans, opening at COSI on October 19, 2019, to engage and educate about the importance of our local watersheds and rivers and the impact they have on the world’s oceans.

All volunteers who participate in the Scioto Sweep will be invited to a special celebration of the clean-up at the opening of Unseen Oceans on Saturday, October 19thand to be among the first to visit the exhibition.

About Unseen Oceans

Unseen Oceans will be making its international tour debut at COSIafter it completes it successful run at the American Museum of Natural Historyin New York who created the exhibition.

In Unseen Oceans, visitors will embark on a journey that takes them from the oceans’ sunlit surfaces to their inky depths as they discover the latest ocean science and encounter the researchers and technologies powering exploration today. Learning about our oceans helps foster a greater understanding of their importance and how we must all work together to care for them.

COSI’s Scioto Sweep and Unseen Oceans is supported by The Huntington Bank who is proud to be part of this effort to inform, inspire and educate the community on the importance of protecting the natural world.

You are invited to a birthday party for Field of Corn (with Osage Orange Trees) to celebrate the artwork’s 25th anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.at Frantz Park, 4995 Rings Rd. in Dublin. Enjoy games, a “corn maze” tour of the artwork, art experiences and more. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from multiple food trucks and vendors. Malcolm Cochran, the artist behind the iconic public artwork, will be on hand during the celebration of the 109 six-foot-high ears of concrete corn, sited on land that was once the farm of Sam Frantz, a pioneer in the hybridization of corn.

• Playing Through street piano

• Corn hole and corn maze

The celebration marks the first event in a three-part Discovery Series, a key part of of Dublin Arts Council’s new Art & Wellness initiative. Each Art & Wellness Discovery Series event will have a sub-theme – in this case, ‘play’ – and will encompass visual art, sound and movement components. Initial collaborators, who will help shape the experiences, include Washington Township Fire & Emergency Medical Services, Syntero Counseling Centers, Dublin City Schools and several City of Dublin departments, including Police, Human Resources and Recreation Services.

🎈Frontier Spirit @ Alley Park

Frontier Spirit is a step back into time that can be enjoyed by all ages. A tent village shows the life of the early settlers with demonstrations by skilled craftsmen of cooking, soap making, blacksmithing, spinning, weaving and more. The large marquis tent provides a place for music by many musicians on various period instruments, speeches by local dignitaries and various skits. Games and activities for children are also part of the village entertainment.

Concessions are available at very reasonable prices, with snacks, drinks and food-including bean soup cooked in iron kettles over an open fire. The village is open from 11:00am to 4:00pmboth days. A church service by a circuit preacher is featured at 9:00am on Sunday morning. Bring the family and enjoy a little bit of living history. This is a free event, but donations are greatly appreciated.
