🚒Touch a Truck 2019 @ Worthington Community Center

The 8th Annual Touch a Truck is a unique and interactive event that allows children to see, touch, and safely explore their favorite big trucks and heavy machinery, as well as to meet the personnel who protect, serve, and build the Worthington community. Over 40 vehicles will be on display, along with a variety of other children’s activities. Admission is free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Car Seat Checks! Columbus Public Health will be doing car seat checks throughout the event while Ohio Chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics will be handing out free bike helmets (limited quantity).
Food Drive! Please bring a canned or non-perishable food item to help us “Stuff the Truck” for the Worthington Food Pantry.

Week 4 Market Activities
Join us bright and early at 9 am for a morning of fresh food on High. We’re honored to have Columbus Public Health representatives Jalisa Dawkins and Cheryl Graffagnino kick things off by ringing the opening bell on W Dunedin.
Jalisa is the Local Food Systems Strategies Manager at Columbus Public Health. In her role, she is responsible for administering the City of Columbus Community Garden Grant program and implementing the Columbus & Franklin County Local Food Action Plan, which looks to create a fair and sustainable food system that benefits our economy, our environment, and all people. Jalisa serves on the Joint City-County Local Food Team and the Franklin County Local Food Council. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Master of Public Health degrees from The Ohio State University.
Cheryl is registered dietitian who joined Columbus Public Health in 2009 after 15 years designing, implementing and evaluating adult weight management interventions. From 2009 to 2015, Cheryl served as the co-chair of the Growing Healthy Kids Columbus Coalition. During that time she co-authored the City of Columbus Early Childhood Obesity Prevention Plan and led the Columbus Public Health 2011 ACHIEVE Community Team in efforts to utilize a policy, system and environment approach to making the healthy choice the easy choice for young children and their families in child care centers and community-based organizations. Cheryl assumed the role of Healthy Food Access Program Manager in March 2015. She co-authored the Columbus & Franklin County Local Food Action Plan and leads Columbus Public Health and the City of Columbus’s efforts to implement the plan. In this role Cheryl is responsible for identifying and connecting innovative efforts to improve food access in Columbus neighborhoods, especially those most affected by health disparities.
In addition, Whinestopper performs in the Donatos lot. We also invite you to stop by the market tent to learn all about rhubarb, and even try a stalk!

Each spring, the City of Hilliard holds a Peace Officers Memorial Day service at First Responders Park to honor all Ohio police officers killed in the line of duty.
This year’s Hilliard Police Memorial Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. It is a free event and the public is encouraged to come pay their respects.
The event will honor and remember peace officers who have died in the line of duty, including four last year and our own Officer Sean Johnson, whose end of watch occurred on May 19, 2016. Officer Johnson was the first Hilliard officer killed in the line of duty since the department’s creation in 1957.
