The Science of Chick Hatching @ Westerville Library

Discover the excitement of chick hatching with a teacher from Bring the Farm to You. Learn about the different steps of chicken development from egg to fuzzy chick. 

Then visit the library over the following weeks to see the process come to life with incubating eggs on public display in Youth Services. Approximate hatch date is Wednesday, March 18. Live chicks will be picked up on Wednesday, March 25

Read Across America Family Fun Night @ Worthington Community Center

On February 28th, the Worthington Education Association will be hosting its annual Read Across America Event at the Worthington Community Center from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

This free family event includes face-painting, live animals, snacks, balloon-twisting, Worthington Library storytimes, large costume characters, an open gym with the Worthington Kilbourne Men’s Lacrosse Team, Preschool gym, and more.

You will receive a discount swim pass for a future visit to the Community Center  with a donation of a new or gently used Preschool book benefiting the Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Maple Syrup Time @ Gallant Farm

Many Depression-era farms tapped maple trees to collect sap and make maple syrup during the late winter an early spring. The resulting product provided a tasty sweetener for foods and a source of income during the off-season. Join us at Gallant Farm and discover how sap is extracted from the maple trees and then cooked down into syrup.  All ages.

MakerX features VR, gaming, robotics, drones, 3D printing, music & design technology, automation, and making of all kinds!! This public festival of creating with technology is suitable for all ages. Attendance at MakerX is free and requires no tickets. However the Expo Center will charge $5 per vehicle for parking.

Leap Day Adult Date Night: Gourmet S’mores and Night Hike @ Highbanks Metro Park

Bring your significant other (although it’s okay to come with friends, too!) and enjoy trying your hand at some gourmet s’mores recipes followed by a night hike. Ages 18+

Optional night hike begins at 7:00 pm. Dress for being outside, and bring a flashlight.  

Program is free and meets at the Northern shelter. After you enter the park, the Northern shelter is the second parking area on the right.

Leapin’ Lantern Stroll

Celebrate this Leap Day with a 1-mile candlelit stroll along the Spring Creek Trail. 

Please note: The program begins at 6:45pm, to ensure that we have enough time to hike before the park closes at 8pm. 

Meet at the Apple Ridge Picnic Shelter. This lantern hike is dog friendly!

Go WILD Kids Club: Frogs, Toads & Salamanders, Oh My! @ Sharon Woods

Learn about the secret lives of amphibians while you meet some of our animal ambassadors. Ages 5-12.

Program will be held indoors at Spring Hollow Lodge. Please note that the Lodge is located at 1069 W. Main St., and is not accessible via the main park entrance off of Cleveland Ave.

We invite you to celebrate with us at our NEW location!!

Enjoy an afternoon filled with animals, games, prizes, raffles, and auctions. There will be lots of fun had and plenty of activities for the entire family. It will be a great time to see the space and hear more about our services. 

For those that are unfamiliar with what we do, we are a non-profit, low-cost veterinary clinic and our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population. This new location is a much larger building which will allow us to expand in both the number and kinds of services we offer!
