Wrapping up summer will be bittersweet this weekend.  Chances to shop(with kids activities), folk songs, firetrucks, mud, farm adventures, end of summer bashes(with smores), butterfly release, movies outdoors, and dog craft for National Dog Day.  How will we choose?

Upper Arlington firefighter and paramedic David Wisner will read about and discuss fire safety.  He will also show children around a real fire engine and medic truck.

🏃🏻‍♀️Mud and Madness @ Blacklick Woods Metro Park

Negotiate several muddy obstacles on a. 1.5 mile, fun family adventure.  Obstacles are a little challenging and a little muddy…a whole lot more FUN than RUN.  Perfect for mud-loving children , adults and families.  Sorry, no strollers or pets.  Bring towels; we’ll help hose you off afterward.  Meet at Nature Center parking lot.

Enjoy a full day of fun with climbing clinics(for beginners), competitions, slackening, local vendors, food vendors and much more!  We will end the first day with a family friendly movie(The Goonies) and an option of overnight family camping.  Meet at climbing wall.

🐛Monarch Butterfly Release Party @ Sticky Fingers Ice Cream Parlor

Did you know that Monarch Butterflies migrate all the way to Mexico for the winter?  They can fly up to 3,000 miles during their trip.  Liz from Preservation Parks of Delaware will be tagging & releasing live Monarch Butterflies to track their migration.  Learn about the lifecycle & why scientists track these amazing butterflies!  Event is free and weather dependent.

🌽Broomcorn Harvest @ Slate Run Farm

Help harvest and clean broom corn(weather permitting) and watch broom making.
