The Circleville Pumpkin Show is THE Greatest Free Show on Earth! We’ll see you on the streets in the historic shopping district of Downtown Circleville Ohio from October 16-19, 2019. Always starts the 3rd Wednesday of October.  Never too early to think about the next Pumpkin Show.

Roscoe Village’s Apple Butter Stirrin’ recaptures the flavor of an old time harvest celebration.  Highlighting this 49 year old festival is the making of homemade apple butter in large copper kettles over crackling wood fires.  The festival includes handmade crafts and exhibits, demonstrations, outdoor stage entertainment and more!

🎃Ohio Historical Society: All Hallows’ Eve

Enjoy an evening of 1890s-style family fun at All Hallows’ Eve, with a retelling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by the bonfire, pumpkin carving and strange characters roaming Ohio Village. Come revel in Victorian-era entertainment including fortune telling, crafts, games and more!

  • Hear from Haunted Ohio author Chris Woodyard about Victorian mourning traditions
  • Watch a Punch and Judy puppet show performace of The Legend of Sleepy Hallow
  • Learn how pumpkin carving, mask-making and other popular Halloween traditions got their start
  • Follow the lit pumpkin path to the amphitheater and watch for the ghostly apparition of the Headless Horseman, as our storyteller retells Washington Irving’s famous story
  • Take part in a 19th century masquerade party and try traditional dancing
  • Make your own mask, carve a pumpkin and enjoy hot cider
  • Explore the traditions of fortune telling and learn about astrology, sortilege and runes
  • Play Victorian parlor games
  • Hear from the fascinating characters who roam Ohio Village and ask them about their All Hallows’ Eve celebrations
  • Explore the funeral parlor and learn about 19th century funeral practices
  • Hear ghost stories and more!

Ages 5 and under free, $12 youth (ages 6-12), $16 adult. (If you are a member, it’s $7 for youth and $11 for adult.) There will also be concessions for sale.

🚒Berlin Township Fire Department Open House

BERLIN TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT 

OPEN HOUSE  🚒

On Sunday October 20, starting at 1:00PMand ending at 3:00PMthe Fire Department will be hosting their annual Open House.  The Open House is an opportunity to visit with firefighters and paramedics to learn about the equipment fire trucks and ambulances carry and how it is used on an emergency scene.  There will be fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars on display along with vehicles from the Berlin Township Road Department.  Tours of the fire station will be conducted throughout the event.  Informational booths from different local government agencies and safety handouts will be on display.  Refreshments will be served during the  Open House.

Come in costume to gather candy and other treats from characters along the enchanted spooky trail. Decorate pumpkins, enjoy a hayride and vote for your favorite scarecrow. After trick or treating, head over to Gallant Farm for more fall fun!

🧙🏻‍♂️For Kids: Make Wizard Wands @ HIghbanks Metro Park

Get sorted into your class by the Sorting Hat, take a hike though the Highbanks forest to discover some of the magical trees that grow in the park. Select your wand from the wand shop, then decorate it to make it yours. Feel free to come dressed as your favorite character from Harry Potter. 

Ages 5-12. Meet at Nature Center. Program and wands are free of charge.

Parking can be limited in Nature Center parking lot, please allow yourself extra time in case you need to park in Oak Coves and walk over to the Nature Center.
